1. Check your passport
Most countries expect your passport to be valid for at least six months after your travel date, with blank pages. Renew early if it is close to expiry.
2. Confirm the visa rule
Visa rules for Indian passport holders change from time to time. Check the current rule, or ask your travel company to confirm before you pay for anything.
3. Set a budget
Include flights, hotels, local transport, meals, activities, visa fees, insurance and shopping. Keep ten to fifteen percent extra.
4. Book flights and hotels
Fix your dates first. A package usually bundles flights, hotels, transfers and sightseeing at one price.
5. Buy travel insurance
Insurance covers medical emergencies, lost baggage and cancellation. Some visas, such as Schengen, require it.
6. Arrange forex and connectivity
Carry a forex card and a little cash. Check roaming plans or buy a local SIM at the airport.
